While I was working on my capstone this weekend I wanted to look at changing up the CSS in SharePoint so that I could conform to the Sovernet website and try to keep with the same style. The code is machine created and has no logical semantic labeling. I tried to sift through it and reach a conclusion pretty fast that it wasn’t going to be a reality that I would be restyling it without using the tools that SharePoint provides for me.
Unless you wrote the code, I don’t see why they even offer the option to manually configure the CSS for SharePoint. Especially since as soon as some one clicks on “Change site theme” it wipes out all the changes. I’ve reached both a new respect for SharePoint and deeper loathing for it this weekend. Another month of crunch and I’ll have it where I need it for the end of the semester. Then after that Sovernet will need to pay me to keep working on it. I like the project and think it would be really good, but I just don’t have enough time to invest in it without the incentive of pay…
