These last 2+ weeks have been pure hell. From trying to integrate another ISP into our infrastructure and finding we don’t have ANY of the correct equipment to support their existing customers to our own customers being unreasonable. I felt on Thursday night that after I couldn’t keep my eyes open, a long sleep would make the weeks finally end and no more calls to do yet another almost 40 hours of overtime. To my surprise on the way into work on Friday morning my car starts shaking and the Check Engine light begins flashing at me. Great, how much worse can this get?!? I call my mechanic and am told its a dead coil, easy fix, but he can’t do it until Tuesday. And while the car technically is drivable I shouldn’t drive it as it will damage the catalytic converter and end up costing me even more money.
On the way home I stopped at Advance Auto Parts to see how much a new coil would cost and find its only $30. I can’t resist the cheap price to probably be back on the road by dark the same day. I pick up the part and an OBD2 reader so I can figure out which cylinder is not firing. Get home and viola, changed out and working in a matter of minutes.
Maybe now my weekend will be better and I can finally get all caught up in school work and my other side projects. Crossing my fingers that the worst is behind me.
